This challenge is going to be about anything in astronomy discovered in the last 10 years or so. It can be anything, from new planets, to new stars, new galaxies, new phenomena, anything new in astronomy. It's your choice. If the phenomena or object is a little older, but the theory describing it is more recent, that's okay also. Look back through some of our old topics for ideas... new moons of Saturn, Eris & Dysnomia, Extrasolar Planets, distant galaxies, recent comets, etc.

In addition to the general rules, a couple quick notes for this contest:

1You may manipulate any image, as long as it is an image, drawing or illustration of something discovered since 1999.
2The icons may be still or animated; they may also be text-only, as long as the text relates in some way to something discovered since 1999.
3You may submit of total of 4 icons.

Submit your entries as comments to this post. Don't forget to give the address of your image. :)
Additional image resources are linked on astro_i.
You can submit your favourite resources as well as suggestions for future contests here.

I look forward to seeing your efforts!

This challenge ends Sunday, January 11th, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. EDT.
